Rosel Caye

Rosel Caye is a sandy little island located right between Caye Chapel and Long Caye. Less than a mile from the reef and 10 miles from Belize City. The island is listed as 5 acres since that was the area surveyed. The actual island size is approximately half an acre with very shallow water all the way around, allowing the island to be reclaimed through dredging. Over the years, lack of maintenance and wave action has allowed the island to erode to the size that it is today. Basic steps to mitigate the erosion could be implemented which will stop the erosion and allow the island to naturally grow back to its original size.
