Katafanga Island Resort

225 acres - €25,000,000

The Island

Katafanga Island is simply one of the most naturally beautiful islands in the world and one of the few freehold islands in the South Pacific paradise of Fiji.

Katafanga is 225 acres of unspoiled beauty, fringed with white sand beaches and surrounded by its own 5,000 acre tranquil lagoon, plus a spectacular reef that completely encircles the island.

The island measures 1 mile long by 1/3 mile wide and is situated almost exactly north to south with the long sides facing east and west. The island is volcanic with elevations exceeding 150 feet and spectacular sandy beaches along the eastern and western shores. The resort development was strategically placed along the western beach to take advantage of the magnificent South Pacific sunsets. As a 19th century coconut plantation, the island is littered with coconut palms creating the ultimate tropical ambiance. Along the eastern shoreline rests the 1,000 meter long airstrip and island infrastructure facilities. This is also the location of the marina capable of holding the largest of vessels.

The island's limestone has created several caves and tide pools that are perfect for exploring. The nine caves on the island are truly amazing with large caverns and corridors of stalagmites and stalactites. The deepest explored parts of the caves are 400 feet below the surface.

A full 7 kilometers of road encircle the island. This road provides quick access to the entire island without invading the privacy of the guests. It also serves as the conduit for the underground utilities installed throughout.

The huge lagoon offers protection for the largest of yachts and has accommodated vessels over 200 feet in length. The entrance to the lagoon is located off the northern point of Katafanga with a water depth of 35 feet and over 200 feet of width allowing a comfortable passage by large vessels.

Katafanga is located in the Lau group of islands in the northeast area of Fiji. The location offers a perfect blend of weather without excessive rain or drought. The trade winds keep the island comfortable at all times.

Access to Katafanga is 60 minutes by air from Nadi, where the international airport is located. With a few options available by local airlines for an arrival by seaplane or traditional aircraft with subsequent boat transfer. Once the airstrip is complete, Katafanga will have easy access directly to the resort. For viewing purposes, at this point, it's best to use the seaplane service.

Temporary accommodations have been built for overnight stays of potential investors with proper qualifications.
