Resort Facilities

Katafanga Island Resort was designed with 5 star accommodations in mind. The vision was to create one of the world's finest resorts with attention to even the smallest detail. Katafanga's location, design and staffing will ensure each guest maximum privacy and security while allowing them the freedom to fully experience the island's unsurpassed natural beauty, luxurious accommodations, invigorating spa treatments and consummate personalized service.

The resort design was a collaboration of Dana Aiken (a California based architect who has worked on many prestigious properties, including Euro Disney and Disney World in Florida), Phil Bias (a landscape architect who has been involved in the design of Jack Nicholas golf courses and resort properties for Don Kohl, a Southern California property developer), and RIM Architects of Hawaii who were utilized for the structural engineering. The structures have been built out of solid concrete and epoxy coated steel to California earthquake standards and a combination of U.S., Australia and New Zealand building codes; whichever were the most stringent.

The luxurious private island resort features air-conditioned beachfront villas (called bures in Fiji). Each bure is exquisitely furnished with tropical woods and soft inviting fabrics and features custom king sized beds with a soaring sheer canopy, romantic spa bath for two, oversized double sinks recessed in granite counter tops and lavish indoor shower with dual heads. The exterior of the villas consist of an enclosed courtyard entry with lily pond, wrap around lanai with covered dining area, rock walled outdoor shower and a private plunge pool.

The main complex is a forty thousand square foot facility consisting of:

The resort will also feature a 9-hole golf course along the top of the island set within the volcanic tropical landscape.
